When discovering the works of Lise Vurpillot, the viewer is first of all surprised by the strength of her work: the bright colors worked with a thick brush are almost tactile. Then comes the look of the animals: the softness that emanates from the richly composed pupils.
Strength first, and gentleness immediately. Both, not in opposition but under construction. By playing with complementary colors and by promoting a tight frame, the artist reinforces beauty and the symbolism of power.
It installs the wild world in our urbanity. The artist challenges us while the animal's gaze evokes our conscience.
Lise Vurpillot paints the animals she meets. She immortalizes the moment they see her, look at her, and certainly question her intentions. The artist poses this moment full of emotions and the benevolence she feels in color. Through her work, she seems to tell us that while we value animals for their beauty, they are also beings endowed with emotions, who watch us act.
Elodie Bouffay — Journalist

Lise Vurpillot is a contemporary painter whose work explores the profound link between humans and animals. Through her vibrant portraits, she does not seek to represent a species, but to give shape to a unique moment: the one where two worlds intersect, recognize each other, touch each other without a word.

Each of his paintings is the result of a real face-to-face encounter. On the ground, in the silence of the forests or the light of the Great Plains, Lise watches, waits.
It captures the precise moment when a fragile look is offered, and when everything is suspended. It is from this experience that the work springs — a silent, profound dialogue between two forms of life.

In her studio, she breathes new life into this encounter. His painting oscillates between precise naturalism and colorful expressionism, between fidelity to the animal and the freedom to translate emotion.

Far from simple realism, she paints wonder, the tension of presence, the beauty of the living in its complexity.

His work is part of a resolutely contemporary approach:
— through his field practice,
— through its commitment to the preservation of living beings,
— by his desire to make visible what our age forgets to look at.

Welcome to a world where art becomes a common language between species. Where painting opens a path to the invisible. Where color tells the magical moment of an encounter with the animal.
