Commitment to nature and wildlife
To create is also to protect.
Behind each canvas, there is an itinerary: that of an artist but also of a woman committed to living things. Before painting, Lise Vurpillot observes. She reads.
She follows the work of naturalists, exchanges with biologists, and participates in protection programs.
His art is not born in the studio, it starts in the field — in Jura, Kenya, Greenland or in an ethical animal park — where nature resists, where the animal that is still free can be met with respect. His commitment is twofold:
Son engagement est double :
Ethics, first of all: Lise refuses any disconnected or fantasized representation. She ensures that each painting reflects a lived relationship, without anthropomorphism or domination.
Environmentally friendly, then: she actively supports wildlife protection associations and integrates contemporary living issues into her work — disappearance of habitats, extinction of species, climate change. Far from contemplative art, her work becomes testimony. Far from contemplative art, her work becomes testimony.
A sensitive, accessible testimony, capable of reaching where speeches fail: in emotion, in beauty, in the sensation of a world that deserves to be looked at... and preserved. For Lise Vurpillot, to create is to awaken consciousness. It is giving back to the spectator's eyes a forgotten power: the power to marvel, to be moved, and perhaps... to act.
